the aim of WP3 is to encourage users to adopt behaviours aimed at decreasing vehicle emissions, the emission simulation tools that will be compiled within WP2 will be combined with behavioural psychology disciplines to design specific intervention strategies. These will, in turn, be described, applied and evaluated in pilot projects within WP3 to serve as a basis for future implementation by interested parties. All pilot projects will have quantifiable results, validated underlying models and be assessed for relevant vehicle technologies.
From the network of the partners and the advisory board, stakeholders will be selected with a keen interest in improving local air quality through car user participation, using the approaches developed in the project. This combination of 1) the need for improvement of air quality, 2) a stakeholder with a vested interest, 3) a stakeholder’s belief in an approach from the uCARe portfolio of prepared campaign strategies, and 4) the expertise from the partners on both the technical and behavioural aspects of the approach, will be a good basis for a successful pilot. It is essential that the reduction potential is achieved in the pilot to the maximum. A successful pilot should be a sound basis and the necessary experience for further roll-outs beyond the project.
